Here to stay – struggles in Hamburg over the past year

A lot happend: With the protest of the group 'Lampedusa in Hamburg' for their right to stay and against racist european politics and with massive repression on all levels, a protest formed in which many people came to the streets in solidarity of shared struggles.
We try to give a short impression and overview of the last month and the current situation in hamburg and want to discuss the links between selforganised protest of refugees and anarchist ideas and fights - What are experiences, ideas and perspectives of shared positions, actions and struggles?

How to fire your boss and save your work collective?

Kroz povijest primjere takvog oblika organiziranja u nekom većem obimu možemo naći u španjolskoj revoluciji i u Jugoslaviji, dok u novijoj povijesti imamo slične primjere u Južnoj Americi, ali i u nekim državama Europe i u SAD-u.
U kratkom predavanju ćemo proći neke osnove radničkog samoupravljanja i njegovo pojavljivanje kroz povijest, a zatim prezentirati nekoliko svježih i uspješnih primjera iz Hrvatske, regije i svijeta.

Veganism, atheism, and punk politics

Like many people of my generation, I was introduced to radical politics by listening to punk and hardcore and participating in the d.i.y. underground scene. The punk bands that taught me some of life's most vauable lessons had in turn been politicized by the bands they had been listening to and so on. But why does punk even have a tradition of radical politics? Why does this symbiosis work, and why does it sometimes fail? In terms of punk politics, the two things that have stuck with me most persistently are veganism and atheism. They are both important means to free oneself from some of the coercions of capitalist society and the way identities are produced in it. They both mean freedom on various levels.

Concentration camps: a priority of crisis management in Greece

Some years ago we were talking about Fortress Europe and the necessity of a NO BORDER movement. Today we should be talking about KZ Europe. The spread of detention centers across the vieux continent does not only thicken the pattern of black dots on the map, it is also marking a deep fascist turn in the minds of people.
Over the last twenty years, the non-place of detention centers has gradually taken on the historical symbolism of traditional concentration camps and is now setting up new boundaries, new enclosures, new spatial relations, a whole new anthropogeography of hate and exclusion. Since their first appearance in the early 20th century in the Boer War, concentration camps have been a method of mass population management, drawing a clear line between the excluded and the incorporated, between those who no longer have a body and those who actually constitute the social body. Their function is at once to dehumanize both detainees and society at large. That is why they can easily be employed as a technique of mass extermination, as they were in the case of African rebels in western South Africa, African slaves in the Belgian Congo in the early 20th century, Jews (and gypsies, and others...) in WWII.

Anarchism and the New Global Revolts

From Brazil to Ukraine and Bosnia, rebellion is expanding in both exciting and frightening directions. What common threads connect the occupied squares and torched police cars? A rogue operative from the CrimethInc. Ex-Workers' Collective returns to Europe to offer reflections on anarchy in the new era of global revolt! This dynamic presentation explores today's global uprisings in relation to policing, citizenship, and democracy. As economic crises necessitate ever wider policing, what new opportunities for revolt will arise? As conflicts over nationality and migration intensify, what alternatives can we present to liberal notions of citizenship? As trust in government erodes, what visions can anarchists offer beyond representative democracy? Our struggles must spread narratives and tactics that contest the legitimacy of these forces – and the future of freedom hangs in the balance.

On social rebellion in Bosna and Hercegovina
